Partnerships for Success

InnovateED believes that sustainable school improvement requires community-based support through the alignment of resources from colleges/universities, businesses and community organizations. School districts that embrace this concept recognize that ensuring all students attain college and career readiness attributes necessitates community-based support. Three primary outcomes define the partnership structure:

  1. Creating a culture of “college and career readiness for all”
  2. Creating support structures that ensure all students attain college and career ready attributes
  3. Creating multiple pathways into college toward viable careers

InnovateED’s role in the Partnerships for College and Career Success is to serve as a convener, facilitator and consulting partner. A four step process is used to move from initiation to sustainable implementation.

Phase One: InnovateED consults with the district to create an executive team that drives the initial visioning process and creation of strategic goals and outcomes.

Phase Two: Community partners identified and are brought together to form work groups focused on developing a community-oriented culture of college and career readiness, designing student support structures at critical K-14 transition points, and creating seamless pathways to college and careers.

Phase Three: District and school leaders assess current academic programs to prioritize and implement action steps needed to create a continuum of student support from middle school, through the senior year of high school and into the freshman year of college.

Phase Four: InnovateED provides consultative support to develop the capacity of the Partnership Executive Team to measure progress through bi-annual meetings and coordinate community-based work group activities.

The impact of the Partnership for College and Career Success is measured by the increase of college-going rates without need for remediation as well as the leading indicators of this outcome at transition points in elementary, middle and high school.
